This is the most “millennial” interview I think I’ve heard on this podcast. Good work in treating him with respect and conducting a very even-handed interview. I can imagine that he isn’t necessarily treated that way by the more “mainstream” LDS. Way to go in lifting up his voice!
WOW! Best part was when he said some of the other groups are kind of out there.
i finally got around to listening to this. I was notified of the interview when i was on the road. I have had a few conversations with Gazelam Ale and it was enlightening to hear him present his views. I think it’s very important for Mormon’s of all types to remember the mystical elements. Mormonism is a religion full of deep and beautiful mysteries which mainstream members are often told to stay away from. This interview let us see a little of why the mysteries are worth diving into.
I’ve listened to this twice, but I’m still confused. What does he actually believe in?
I think that underlying this interview and a lot of the others is that Mormons somehow lose interest in the fact that in Christianity and end up and lose importance of Jesus’s life time. For a lot of mormons, history goes no further than Joseph Smith. He may be a Mormon because he likes the culture, but it seems like there is no underlying Christian basis.
