I like hearing their own words being read aloud. Do you know of any pioneer journals/diaries being read aloud in audio or podcast form? That is something I would love to hear!

It really surprises me when people question whether Joseph Smith had sexual relations with his plural wives or not, especially with the ones that were not already married to other men, like Eliza. The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve was to “multiply and replenish the earth”, and as far as I know that commandment is still in force. One of the reasons for plural marriage is to raise up a righteous seed unto the Lord. Therefore it would be proper, correct, and justified for Joseph Smith to have intimate sexual relationships with his plural wives.

I feel like I can relate a great deal to Eliza’s personality. She seems very declarative and aligned to the comforting temptation of certainty. I was very much like this for such a long time. I don’t think I could have imagined anything better, but I do think that there is something morally and intellectually better than “knowing” as Eliza. I like her and I don’t. I wish the world could have seen an Eliza Snow as a skeptic.
